I'm Brett
Wilson

I come from a manufacturing family background, which exposed me at a young age the ins and outs of manufacturing and running a successful business. It helped jump start my love for designing and creating things from raw materials.

This ultimately led me to pursue Physics in college and become a deep space radar systems engineer for MIT’s prestigious Lincoln Laboratory. My time with MIT was unforgettable, but I longed to start and run my own business like my father and grandfather. So I left  Massachusetts and moved to Idaho to be close to family and start BLUE SUMMIT MACHINING.

Machining is a profession that fits me like a glove. As a physicist and engineer, I enjoy calculating everything and paying attention to the most minute details–which drives my wife crazy on occasion. But it’s more than simply being precise–it’s my love of designing that gets me excited for work everyday. Programming designs on the computer and drawing them with CAD is fun for me, and seeing it come to life at the machine is immensely satisfying.
